HEELSIDE Blade Refill — 3 pack

$14.00The Quiet Kit included free

The fur between the pads is why your dog slides on hard floors. Two minutes, once a month, and the floor comes back.

  • Cuts only the overhang — never the pads
  • LED lights the gap so you see what you cut
  • 35 dB class — quiet enough for nervous dogs
  • Rinse the head under the tap, nothing comes apart
  • Replaces a $20–30 groomer visit every few weeks

What actually happens

Three steps.
One paw at a time.

No table, no restraint, no bath afterwards. Lift the foot, turn the pads toward you, take the overhang back level.

  1. Fur grown out past the pads on a dog’s front paw

    01

    The fur closes the gap

Coat keeps growing between the pads long after the rest of the dog looks tidy. On a hard floor it is the fur touching down, not the pads.

  2. The LED lighting the gap between the pads

    02

    The light shows the line

The LED sits under the head, so you can see the pad edge you are working to instead of guessing at it in shadow.

  3. A trimmed paw held open, every pad exposed

    03

    The pads meet the floor

Fur back to level, pads uncovered. The pads themselves are never cut — only what has grown past them.

In use

Three angles on
the same two minutes.

Unedited. The head sits flat, the LED shows the overhang, and only the overhang comes off.

02 — Between the pads
03 — Pads come clear
A front paw held open, fur veiling the pad gaps

Why it grows there

A dog sweats
through its feet.

Dogs have almost no sweat glands anywhere else. What cooling they do through the skin, they do through the pads — which is why the gaps between them stay slightly damp, and why hair keeps growing there long after the rest of the coat has settled.

Damp fur packed between the pads is the layer your dog is actually standing on. Take it back level and two things happen at once: the pads touch the floor again, and the gap can dry.

If a paw is swollen, cracked or persistently licked, that is a vet visit, not a trim. The P1 is a grooming tool.

The thing nobody tells you

Your floor is not slippery.
Your dog has no traction.

A dog grips with the pads — six points of textured contact on each foot. Fur grows out of the gaps between them and keeps growing. Once it is long enough, it sits between the pad and the floor like a felt pad under a chair leg.

On carpet and grass it makes no difference, so you never notice. On sealed hardwood, tile and laminate, the dog is skating.

  • 01Short, careful steps on hard floors — then normal speed on the rug
  • 02A pause at the top of the stairs that was never there before
  • 03Back legs sliding apart when they stand up from lying down
  • 04Scrambling for grip in the hallway instead of just running

Most owners read that as the floor, or as age. It is usually two minutes of fur.

Pads clear, the fur taken back level

Built for one job

Three things make
this trim possible.

Household clippers are too wide, too loud and blind. The P1 was designed around the gap between the pads and nothing else.

The P1 switched on, with the LED lit

01 — The head

18 mm, ceramic, rounded

Wide enough to clear a pad gap in one pass, rounded so the edge cannot dig into the webbing. Ceramic runs cooler than steel, which matters when a dog is already unsure.

A dog resting on the sofa while a paw is trimmed

02 — The light

You can see the gap

The underside of a paw is the worst-lit surface in the house. The built-in LED throws light straight down the gap so you are cutting fur you can actually see, not guessing at it.

A paw trimmed at home while the dog rests

03 — The noise

Quiet enough to be ignored

A 35 dB class motor with low vibration. Most dogs that fight a full-size clipper will sit through this one, because there is almost nothing to react to.

Two minutes

How the trim goes

Step 01

Sit them down

Floor is better than a table. Lift one foot and turn the pads toward you. Let the dog hear the motor once before it touches them.

Step 02

Light the gap

With the LED on you will see exactly how far the fur has grown past the pads. That overhang is what you are removing — nothing else.

Step 03

Flat, not angled

Keep the head flat against the paw and draw it across the gaps. Flat means the blade cannot reach the skin. Two or three passes on a thick coat.

Step 04

Rinse and done

Fur level with the pads, not below them. Rinse the head, dry it, put it away. Check again in three to six weeks depending on the coat.

“I purchased this to groom my dog’s coat at home, and I am more than satisfied with the results. It’s perfect for trimming hair on the soles of feet, around the buttocks, and around the eyes. It is small and lightweight, making it easy to hold in hand, and even beginners can use it without difficulty. The noise and vibration were less than expected, so our very timid puppy didn’t get too anxious. The product I was using before was so loud that I almost ran away, but with this product, just giving a treat is enough to get them to calmly get groomed. The cutting power is excellent, allowing for a clean trim without any feeling of hair getting caught or being chewed up. I also like that the blade part can be detached and cleaned, allowing for hygienic maintenance.”

“Perfect, it does what it says and charges with a USB cable. My dog doesn’t mind it; it’s not that he likes it, but he doesn’t get scared when I use it and it works perfectly, trimming the fur on his paws very well.”

“The trimmer is very good - quiet, gently removes hair, and my dog doesn’t get nervous when I trim the hair on its ears and, especially, on its front paws. I recommend the product and the seller for purchase and future cooperation!”

“Not as quiet as the advertising might make you think. We’ve still needed to do a lot of training with our dog to let him even touch his paws with it, let alone trim his pad fur. Still does what it says it needs to though. I’m sure this would be great if you didn’t have a skittish rescue like us.”

“I find that the blade is smaller than presented, a bit tight to work well, disappointed.”

“This is ok for trimming dog’s paws and face. The cutting blade seems to be made of plastic but it may be ceramic, I’m not 100% sure. Still it did a good job although I don’t know how long it will last.”

Questions

Before you buy

The head is rounded and sits flat against the paw, so the cutting edge does not reach skin when it is held the way the guide describes. The pads themselves and the webbing between them are never trimmed — only the fur that has grown past them.

Three to six weeks for most dogs. Short coats go longer, double and curly coats come round faster. The trim guide breaks it down by coat type, and the honest answer is to check whenever you hear scrabbling on a hard floor.

Most of that reaction is noise and vibration rather than the tool itself. The P1 runs in the 35 dB class with low vibration, which is why owners of clipper-averse dogs are the group that writes in most. Let the dog hear it running before it touches them, and do one foot per session if that is all they will give you.

Yes. The same head size and noise level that suit a dog's pad gaps suit a cat's, and it is also used around the face, ears and rump.

A spare 18 mm ceramic blade and a cleaning brush, in its own box inside the parcel. It is free on every order — you do not add it, and it is not deducted from a refund.

Rinse the head under running water, brush out what stays, dry it and put it away. The body is washable, so nothing has to come apart.

Free shipping on orders over $50. Thirty days to try it on your dog - we refund used returns too - and a two-year warranty on the motor and battery.
